Principal, Environmental Planning
Lani Johnson has provided environmental planning consulting services since 1974, not long after Washington State's adoption of its State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and Shoreline Management Act. She strives for responsible interaction with our environment in everything from major projects to details of daily life. Since 1982, she has managed The Johnson Partnership's planning work, and has prepared numerous environmental evaluations and other planning documents for public and private clients. Her specialties include complex urban and shoreline projects, and have included many port marine projects. Lani Johnson grew up in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. She has been a resident of Seattle since 1968, and loves the Pacific Northwest. Besides being in business together, Lani and Larry Johnson have been married to each other since 1973, and have a son, Lewis, who currently is a Chemistry graduate student at the University of Washington. Lani has been active in volunteer work for arts, school, and community organizations for many years. She enjoys music, travel, walking, and bird watching. Lani received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design (1972), and Master of Architecture (1976), both at the University of Washington.
