Earlier this year we welcomed a new staff member to our team: Katie Jaeger, our Communications and Research Specialist.
Katie helps with the development of historical resources reports at all stages, from initial proposal to final draft. She enjoys tracing the history of a building or neighborhood through archival and internet research, and finding a narrative emerge from the data. She also serves as company copyeditor-in-chief (as such, she accepts responsibility for any typos and infelicities on this website.)
A native of the Ravenna/Roosevelt neighborhood, Katie recently returned to her old stomping grounds after a five-year stint in the Midwest. She holds an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Michigan, where she received a Zell Postgraduate Fellowship in Creative Writing. For several years after graduate school she worked simultaneously as an advertising copywriter and a cheesemonger.
Katie received her B.A. in English from the University of Washington and attended Roosevelt High School, just around the corner from our office. Her interests include books, dogs, sewing, and pickles. She is licensed to sell cheese in all 50 states.
