We remodeled this classic Pacific Northwest 1962 mid-century home, designed by Anna Williams, in four phases over a seven-year period. The objective for all phases was to maintain the spirit of Williams’ vision while maximizing the home’s beauty and functionality for our client to be able to age in place.

A beloved mid-century home needed more light, a kitchen that could host, and a primary suite worth retreating to — without losing an inch of what Ralph Anderson got right. One hundred square feet added and thoughtful consideration applied to the whole home.

Seattle WA stewardship, restoration, and accessibility for the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood from 2019 until 2026.

A family needed their 1919 Craftsman to do something it was never designed for — house multiple generations, each with their own needs — without the home losing its soul. We listened first, then designed. We added an accessible attached "mini-house" for the elders, and refreshed everything else.

The remodel and addition for a 1950s ranch provided a new master suite, an open kitchen, and finished basement with tons of extra light and views of Lake Washington and the Cascades. Skylights, architectural enfilade, larger openings, and raising the ceiling all added the natural light that increases the sense of space and place. A small addition, a new entry porch, and an enlarged deck with a a folding door created easy indoor and outdoor living.

Between 2013 and 2020, we served as architects for a four phase remodel on a house in Madrona originally built in 1922. The house has been remodeled to adapt to a modern lifestyle while preserving the Craftsman character of the house. Each phase brings more space and ease for a busy and growing family. Finishing the basement and brining back an original speakeasy provided a retreat for the family, a new kitchen, and primary ensuite under a new dormer provided all the functional spaces the family needed.

Ten Years of Stewardship on a Tudor Revival style sorority house in the University District of Seattle. Originally designed in 1930 and added on to in 1960 to designs by Joseph Skoog, the landmark residence required bathroom refreshes, new windows, and lots of upgrades.

This kitchen remodel is in a 1925 Prairie-style Sears kit home. The design objectives were to make the kitchen match the style of the house, leave all walls in their existing configuration, and salvage what we could for re-use. The rearranging of some cabinets and relocation of a window did the trick, along with lots of clever extra storage and decorative details.

We renovated this beautiful 1924 Tudor-style home overlooking Elliott Bay in Magnolia for a more contemporary living style. We preserved original details and took full advantage of the stunning view while updating the house.

A 1,000 sf guest cottage/ADU on the shores of Lake Washington was manufactured off-site, the walls and roofs are made of Structural Insulated Panels and were delivered to the site by barge once the foundation was complete. Thoughtful details make this space a beloved retreat.

This 1931 budget Tudor was completely renovated to improve livability, increase usable space, and freshen the connection across all floors. Two dormers were constructed to the front of the house to improve street appeal and allow for a new stair in a more functional placement. This alteration enabled the kitchen to be opened up to the dining room, resulting in a more open and linked main floor.

A Mixed Use Remodel - We purchased the former Jean VelDyke building in Hillman City in Spring 2024 and began construction on the tenant improvements in July. We moved ourselves in into one of the four commercial spaces in October 2024. Two long term residential tenants left in 2025, creating the need for upgrading two of the 4 apartment units.

A peer-to-peer counseling center required more space and a full commercial remodel of their space in Shoreline WA. A change of use, gut rehabilitation and addition finished out the counseling center to be welcoming and homey.

The design concept for our own office remodel started with the idea of an open studio that would bring an updated interpretation of mid-century design inside the space. The bookcase wall partitions the conference room and cantina from the studio with a translucent design to allow the penetration of natural light throughout the space.
